Anne Marie Weiss-Armush founded DFW International Community Alliance, the portal to international North Texas, in 1998.   The network is a grass-roots agent for information, networking and problem solving among the New Americans who are 44% of North Texas residents. DFW International aids individuals toward successful integration, actively conveys the needs of immigrants to those responsible for providing service and governance, and brings members of the many communities together in meaningful, personal contact.

An umbrella for 1,600 internationally themed groups across the region,through its website DFW International offers hundreds of links to global organizations and artists plus an calendar of nearly 400 global cultural events each month. Through cultural events such as the African Unity Festival and Fiesta Latinoamericana! it portrays the new global face of North Texas.

A Fulbright scholar to Mexico, Spanish teacher, and author of 4 books on Middle Eastern culture, Ms. Weiss-Armush lived 11 years in Saudi Arabia, where she lectured on Arabic culture for the national media.

Her twenty years of work on behalf of North Texas refugees and immigrant communities have earned her numerous awards, including that of Dallas’ Peacemaker of the Year for 2003.
