Senior Advisory Council

Tommy Yip is the founding member of the NAAAP-DFW Senior Advisory Council (SAC). Originally, Tommy joined NAAAP’s Atlanta chapter in May 2005. An as active member of the Atlanta chapter of NAAAP from May 2005 to May 2010, Tommy has served as the 2006 Director of Technology, the 2007 Vice President, and the 2008 President for the Atlanta chapter. During his term as the Atlanta chapter President, Tommy led NAAAP-Atlanta to win three national awards of excellence including Chapter of the Year. While serving as the 2008 NAAAP-Atlanta President, Tommy was named one of the Top 25 Most Influential Asian-Americans in Georgia by the Georgia Asian Times. Since 2009, Tommy has served as the NAAAP-National Chief Operating Officer (COO) focusing on developing local chapters and ventures across North America.

As a Senior Advisor to NAAAP-DFW, Tommy would like to provide guidance and mentorship to its leadership team so that NAAAP-DFW is known as the premier Asian professional organization in the DFW metro area.

Professionally, Tommy Yip is a pre-sales Lead Network Architect for British Telecom Global Services, a company that provides voice and data communication services for corporate customers with a heavy global presence. To supplement his 15+ years with the Telecommunications/IT industry, Tommy has obtained the most prestigious level of industry certification, the Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) while leading a team of several network engineers and interfacing with global sales and account teams. Tommy graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida. Tommy is also a member of the University of Florida Alumni Association and an alumnus of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity.

In his spare time, Tommy is learning rock climbing, learning to play golf, watches football, enjoys movies, and experiments with ethnic foods while fitting in weight training and cardiovascular exercises.
