Our Current Featured Testionial - Kim Cummings - VP of HR for NAAAP-DFW

Why did you join NAAAP?

My overall mission has always been to help others.  I'm very passionate about individuals finding their purpose and providing opportunities to succeed.  As a leader, I want to pass on my knowledge (help people promote at work or in a personal goal) and support the local community.  I know I've made the best decision to be a part of a wonderful organization.  NAAAP - DFW provides opportunities to leverage your productive energy and is far from a waste of time.  Participation is an investment in your life, career and future.

What has NAAAP done for you?

NAAAP has helped me engage with a larger population of professionals.  NAAAP has given me the time to network and learn about other professions. Overall, NAAAP has made me a better leader, friend and Mom.   I've held several roles in the organization: President, VP Communications, VP Human resources and Chief of Staff.  NAAAP has given me the opportunity to work on different functional skill sets that have helped in my personal pursuit of executive leadership.

Where do you see us going?

I see the organization growing into a group of well-respected and well-known leaders.  With the growth will come the opportunities to leverage opportunities to work with all businesses.  NAAAP - DFW will be the premier leadership organization and "top of mind" for any business professional looking to expand their talent.  Additionally, many businesses (small to large) looking to expand in DFW will use NAAAP - DFW as a communication and marketing portal for their employees.  I also see NAAAP - DFW being the professional voice to small business and entreprenurs.   Our value proposition is simple - invest your energy by utilizing your time to promote the advantages of the Asian American Population.

How has NAAAP DFW grown over the years?

DFW has grown in size and skill set.  The variety of profressions represented include a majority of woman members.  This is exciting as we expand on our focus on women initiatives and promoting educational platforms.  With the launch of a Collegiate chapter, we will reach all professionals at every facet of their career (early to senior leaders).

Why should others join NAAAP?

Regrettably companies will cut  budgets and minimize exposure for their employees, NAAAP - DFW gives one the opportunity to build on their skill set in a safe environment.  You want to be a leader of people?  Want to work with a budget?  You want programming, marketing or strategic development experience?  Then NAAAP - DFW is the place to expand your wings and fly.  I couldn't be more proud of the DFW leadership team.  We want individuals who want to share their expertise, guide and coach others.  We believe in giving back to the community and being role models for everyone.

Anyone interested in joining our leadership team, give me a call.  Kim Cummings, VP HR and Chief of Staff
