DFW Dragon Boat, Kite and Lantern Festival

When:  Sun, October 6, 2024 8:30 AM – 6 PM

Where: Lake Carolyn, Irving, TX

Details: The 15th Annual DFW Dragon Boat, Kite, and Lantern Festival will take place on Sunday, October 6, 2024. This free event, organized by the Marco Polo World Foundation, features dragon boat racing, kite making demonstrations, traditional stage performances, dragon and lion dances, and much more. Enjoy Asian cultural demonstrations, ethnic food, kids activities, and a petting zoo.

In-person class: Authentic Asian Dumplings

When: October 10th, 2024 6:30 PM

Where: 9850 Walnut Hill Lane #405 Dallas, TX 75238

Details: Roll up your sleeves and get ready to learn the craft of making authentic Asian dumplings from scratch! In this hands-on and interactive class, you will be guided step-by-step through refining your knife skills, making dumpling fillings, and learning the art of folding wonton wrappers into various traditional shapes.

You will be making two types of dumpling fillings in this 2 hour class: Ginger Garlic Shrimp and Vegetable. Your Chef Instructor will provide a step-by-step demonstration of making authentic dumpling dough. During class guests will fill and shape their dumplings using store bought wrappers. Cook your dumplings either using the steaming technique or boiling technique before plating up and enjoying your delicious creations!

2024 McKinney Moon Festival

When: October 12th, 2024 4 PM – 9 PM

Japanese Fall Festival 2024

When: October 13, 2024 10am-3pm

Where: 4101 McEwen Rd, Dallas, TX 75244

Details: The Akimatsuri, the Annual Japanese Fall Festival that celebrates the Fall season with delicious food, fun games, raffles, cultural demonstrations, performances, exhibits and entertainment. This year Akimatsuri will be held at 4101 McEwen Rd., Dallas, the north side parking lot.

Sun & Star Golf Classic

When: Saturday, October 19 8 am – 1:30 pm

Where: 1600 Fairway Dr., Grapevine, TX 76051

Details: The 10th Annual Sun & Star Golf Classic is your opportunity to enjoy a scramble-format tournament, mingle with Japanese and American executives, and support JASDFW’s ongoing business, cultural, and educational programs. The tournament will be a great time not only for golf, but also for networking and client development, and for building relationships between Japanese and Americans in North Texas. Registration fee includes green fee, range balls, fully equipped cart with cooler, towels, tees, course snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, boxed tournament breakfast, and lunch. Enjoy a variety of skill contests, including putting, closest-to-the pin, longest drive, and hole-in-one.

Asian Heritage Celebration 2024

When: October 19th, 2024 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Where: 100 W. Abram St., Arlington, TX

Details: Free to public. All community welcome! There will be different kinds of performances and Asian related activities and food. Area parking free. Please come enjoy this unique Asian cultural experience.

Texas State Fair

When: September 27 – October 20

Where: Parry Ave &, Exposition Ave, Dallas, TX 75210

Details: Since its establishment in 1886, the State Fair of Texas has promoted Texas agriculture, education, and community involvement through quality entertainment in a family-friendly environment. As a nonprofit organization, the Fair advocates for the community and is committed to preserving Fair Park – building on its legacy as a National Historic Landmark.

At 24 consecutive days, the State Fair of Texas is the longest-running fair in the nation, as well as one of the largest. Through its rich and lengthy history, it remains evident that the State Fair serves not only as an annual celebration but as a unique destination that brings people from all walks of life together to create lifelong memories.
